How to Convert a Reader to a Subscriber
When you bring a visitor to your website the come to a landing page. The landing page is simply the first page any visitor sees when they visit a website.
To build your list effectively your landing page should be your “squeeze page.” A squeeze page is where you will convert your reader from a visitor to a subscriber.
Earlier we talked about using some kind of incentive to entice a reader to click the link in your resource box now you are going to find out how this works.
Look at the resource box for this article. You will see that I am offering an incentive to bring readers to my website. In this case a free product. When a reader clicks the link to my website they will land on my squeeze page.
A Squeeze Page Should Contain
1.) A compelling headline.
The headline must be powerful. The great majority of the time a visitor will decide to either grab the product or move on simply by reading the headline.
2.) Bullet Points
Use 3 to 5 bullet points to further entice your visitor. When creating these points try to point out the problems that your product will solve. For instance, “Does this quickly” should be phrased as “Save time by” or something similar.
3.) Autoresponder Code
This is the section in which a visitor must enter their name and email address to get the free product that they came for.
These three items are the basics of your squeeze page. You might want to include some text about how your visitor’s data is safe with you and maybe a signature at the bottom.
To create an effective squeeze page there are a couple of things that you must remember.
A.) Bells and Whistles
Shockwave, Flash, and other technologies do not belong on a squeeze page. Keep it very simple and easy to load. Use the fancy stuff on your personal website.
B.) Banners and Text links
Never use banner or text advertisements on your squeeze page. You do not want to give your visitor the option to leave your page by clicking another advertisement. If you allow that you are possibly putting money into someone else’s pocket not yours.
C.) Two Choices
Your squeeze page should only give your visitor two choices. They must either subscribe to your list in exchange for your free product or close the window.
The true goal of any internet marketer should be to build their list. This is where the long term money is. You list is the most valuable thing you will ever own as an internet professional. your articles to generate interest, use your resource box to bring visitors to your website, use your squeeze page to convert visitors to subscribers, and finally use your list to make real money.
